cursor control (BCI)

The use of a brain–computer interface to move and click an on-screen cursor through neural signals alone, without physical movement of the hand. It is one of the most established demonstrations of BCI technology, used chiefly as an assistive tool for people with paralysis or severe motor impairment.

Example:

“Mind-Controlled Cursor Could Allow Disabled to Type and Click With Ease. A new way of allowing paralyzed or severely injured people to control on-screen cursors taps directly into the brain and shows great promise.” —NBC News, July 2015
