dumping syndrome

rapid gastric emptying

A group of symptoms caused by food moving too quickly from the stomach into the small intestine: diarrhea, nausea, and feeling light-headed or tired after a meal.

Early dumping begins within 30 minutes of eating; late dumping comes one to three hours after. The most common cause is surgery on the stomach or esophagus.
