neuralnanorobotics

also “brain/cloud interface (B/CI)”

A proposal, published in Frontiers in Neuroscience in 2019, for future nanoscale robots that would travel through the bloodstream, cross the blood–brain barrier, position themselves among or inside brain cells, and link the brain wirelessly to cloud computing in real time. The authors called the result a brain/cloud interface and suggested it might be possible within 20 to 30 years.

It is a proposal. Nothing of the kind has been built or demonstrated, and the nanorobots it describes do not exist.

The same paper uses the phrase “transparent shadowing” for experiencing parts of another person’s life through such an interface. It is unrelated to transparent brain-computer interfaces, which are named for a see-through material.
